“Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord”
Costa Rica is a go! November 13th – 22nd looks to be the dates. I will be heading over there as we partner with Calvary Chapel Costa Rica with the goal of serving their local church, and daily partnering in outreach in all areas possible with the community.
I recently read an article about how many missions trips today are something people look to do as some sort of vacation under the banner of the local church. This trip is not such a trip. Nor have I ever been on a trip with anyone doing such.
The last two Costa Rica trips involved serving, preaching, and reaching people daily. This trip will be the same, only this time I will be taking families and various people who feel called to go.
As it stands our goal is to arrive November 13th and be there for at least 7 to 9 days.
Goals:
– Distribute clothes, stationary, and supplies to the local community built on the local dump. Yes, dump!
– Help teach English in the night at the local church.
– Visit the old persons home
– Wednesday and Sunday church services (worship sung in spanish and english, message translated).
– Friday night Bible Study/Outreach at the local gym.
– Outreach in the local high schools (skating, sharing The Gospel).
– Carnival day at elementary school.
– Outreach at jujitsu academy. Oss! – Invite people to the local church and to connect with the community.
Below are some photos from the last few trips.
God did a great work through our crew and not only were the lives of others changed but this trip allowed for a dramatic spiritual experience for myself and the Rock Harbor youth group.
This year I believe two or so other families plus many other individuals will be accompanying me.
This will be the first international trip my wife and children will going serving on, so we ask for prayers for my wifes ears, and as God puts together this trip, and season for our family. .
How can you help? It will be up to everyone individually to raise their own support, as we believe The Church, as in believers understand the call to Go and will affirm this as God moves the hearts of people to support.
We as a family are raising support for passports, flights, hotels, food and the ministry supplies.
Flights for a family of five look to be around $2800, hotels are $20 per night. Food is approx $20 per person per day, and the ministry supplies will involve stationary, childrens clothes, and whatever supplies Pastor Jamie suggests.

Everything is tracked, maintained and held accountable.
“How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” Romans 10:14-15
